Building this resilience requires several elements. Human backup procedures: for every workflow where AI has been integrated, there must be a defined procedure for operating without the AI — tested regularly, not just documented. Error monitoring: systematic tracking of AI output quality, designed to detect error rate increases that might indicate model drift or tool degradation. Incident protocols: a defined process for identifying, reporting, and managing AI-related incidents — including who is notified, what the escalation path is, and how the incident is documented. Training: ensuring that employees who use AI tools understand how to verify outputs and when to exercise independent judgment, rather than defaulting to AI recommendations.
